Smoking and Vaping

The most effective way to stop smoking or vaping is hypnosis.

In the 1990's the scientific publication ‘New Scientist’ carried out a massive study into all of the different methods of stopping smoking. The study involved 70,000 people and concluded that the most effective way of quitting smoking was HYPNOSIS.

There are over 4000 harmful chemicals found in cigarettes. Why put yourself at risk from cancer, heart disease, stroke, emphysema, high blood pressure, and clogged arteries by continuing to inhale this toxic killer? There is so much evidence about the harm cigarette smoking inflicts on your body, but you know that already. During the session we will be looking into your smoking habits and then Karen will specifically tailor your session to your needs .Using a gentle form of relaxation, Karen will guide you showing you how the old triggers can be changed to more healthier beneficial actions. .

The smoking cessation protocol is a 1 session protocol. It is on a one to one basis and completely confidential. It lasts around one and a half hours and this is usually all that is required. There is after care and support available should you feel you require it.

Weight

Many people spend their lives yo-yo dieting, constantly depriving themselves of food then bingeing when they have achieved a certain weight goal. Does this sound like you?

Hypnosis is not about depriving yourself or banning food. It is one of the most natural ways to lose weight enabling you to enjoy a healthier relationship with food. Hypnosis helps you enjoy more of the right kinds of healthy food that will make your body feel, work and look good. It is about enjoying your body and respecting its needs, just wait and see how it will reward you with steady energy levels, calmer moods and a healthy weight.

Developing a new self image. Learn to be more relaxed about weight loss and weight management. Stress is often a serious factor in bad diet and comfort eating. Creating a positive cycle which goes round and round.  We all generally know what we are supposed to be doing i.e.you know that eating too much is not what you desire and you know that exercise and sensible diet are important.  Most people expect to have to lose weight in order to feel good about themselves. Interestingly, when you start to feel good about yourself, weight loss, health and that wonderful feeling of pride and achievement will follow.

Phobia

A phobia is any persistent fear of a specific stimulus object or situation. Phobia is from the Greek meaning to fear or dread. It is more than a simple fear, or being afraid. It is to be totally terrified of the stimulus where the client may experience the 'fight or flight' response that human beings experience when we are in a situation of danger. Phobia, anxiety and panic are simply processes that we have learned and just like learning how to ride a bike once you have learned these processes it is very difficult to unlearn them on your own. This is where hypnotherapy comes in, it is able to access these unconscious processes and help you to unlearn them.

This may include some or all of the following symptoms:

Racing heartbeat

Wanting to or actually crying

Wanting to escape the situation

Difficulty breathing, feeling as though you 'can't get enough air'

Terror that is almost paralysing

Dizziness, light-headedness or nausea

Trembling, sweating, shaking

Churning stomach

Hot flushes or sudden chills

Tingling in fingers or toes ('pins and needles')

Phobias can develop in a number of different ways, learned from a parent or other authority figure in earlier life or as in many cases clients will say that nothing has caused the phobia, they've always been afraid of spiders,or simply they don’t remember what caused the change it just started. It maybe that they experienced or witnessed an event which at the time did not seem to have any great effect, but the young mind will have seen it out of the context that would be understood by a more mature mind in later years. It may have caused an emotional response and/or motor actions to be locked away, repressed, and the emotional and possible motor responses will have been locked away and anchored to the event., and then the body's flight or fight response will kick in and the individual may begin to panic. Hypnosis offers the client the opportunity in a safe controlled environment using relaxation to see the previously feared situation, object or circumstance in a different way and be able to experience those that would previously have been viewed as threatening situations as normal and comfortable. The number of sessions that will be needed to release a person from their phobia will depend upon many things, however the average for people I see is about 2-4 sessions.
